Sitka Spruce, pound for pound, is the strongest wood in the world. It grows only in a narrow strip along the coast from Northern California to Alaska.

Because of the high standards set by us and the wood’s weight to strength ratio, the shafts fly very well, and have gone thought the chronograph at better speeds than tournament grade aluminum according to Bjorn of the Swedish national long bow team. These shafts have done well in tournaments and 3-d shoots around the world. With champs in South Africa, Australia, UK, Denmark, Sweden, and the U.S. shooting them. We’ve had folks here tell us that they are faster than all the carbons except the very thin walled carbons..I don’t think speed is as important as some think, but it is a good indication of the shafts efficiency Our new 23/64 sizes are especially made with the hunter in mind. The breasted 23/64 is all about max weight forward of center (F.O.C.) for increased penetration or Ultra forward of center (U.F.O.C.) A 50# bow with U.F.O.C. can penetrate as well as a 70# bow according to a recent article in traditional bow hunter magazine.

I would also like to take this opportunity to let you know that Suzanne St.Charles of Northwest Archery is now carrying our shafts and will be offering her beautiful custom arrows in sitka spruce .Suzanne has made arrows in her dads shop for over 30 years. The St. Charles family are northwest archery legends with Glenn still alive and kicking, He told me a couple years ago,at a shoot, that he guessed his work just wasn’t done yet. I think he was 93 then.

Our Guarantee:

"All shafts are guaranteed to be round, sound and free of defect, straight or easily hand straightened"

Sitka spruce gets its strength from a very long fiber which makes it difficult to mill and machine; sharper tools are needed. Some characteristics of Sitka Spruce from the “grading and dressing Rule16” and the “export R list Grade Rules” are:

1. Extremely resilient

2. Highest strength to weight ratio of any wood!!

3. Tough-even grained and soft textured

4. Resists tendency to split or splinter

5. Dries easily and stays in place

6. Unusual shock absorbing qualities

7. Withstands sharp impact and suddenly applied loads

THESE COMBINATION OF CHARACTERISTICS ARE UNIQUE TO SITKA SPRUCE AND MAKE IT IDEALLY SUITED FOR ARROW SHAFTS
